Making Your 2026 Decision - Bullet Jounal vs Dated Planner

What I plan on using

For the new year I will be using both a Bullet Journal & dated planner.

I plan on using a bullet journal style as my teacher planner with the Hobonichi Graph Notebook - Another Night of falling star sparklers.

I thoroughly enjoyed using my tiny pocket Weekly Planner by Moleskine for appointments, deadlines and some memory keeping so will use the same for 2026 too.

Bullet journals are great for creative projects and irregular tracking whereas dated planners are better for consistent appointments and weekly planning.

Making Your 2026 Decision

  1. How much time do you realistically want to spend on a planner setup and maintenance?
  2. Does your schedule follow predictable patterns or change frequently?
  3. Do you find creative activities energizing or draining after a long day?
  4. What has worked (or failed) for you in past planning attempts?

Remember, the best planning system is the one you'll actually use consistently. There's no wrong choice—only the choice that fits your current life season, personality, and goals.

Whether you go with the creative freedom of bullet journaling or the structured reliability of a dated planner, the key is starting somewhere and being willing to adjust as you learn what works for your unique planning style.

I would love to know in the comments what you are planning to use!

Happy writing!
